Waste/Scrap/​Defects/Damage

As a benefit for using the Foreign-Trade Zone to store your merchandise, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol will review requests to allow for merchandise that is considered damaged, defective, or scraped waste to be destroyed and the duty on the items waived. This saves you paying duty on unusable merchandise.
