Reyn Spooner, Inc.

For over 50 years, Reyn Spooner has earned the reputation of producing the finest quality aloha
shirts in the islands. In the 50s, Reyn McCullough, a visionary merchant, owned
and operated Reyn's, a successful men's wear store. As Reyn's grew, McCullough's
operations expanded to include designing his own quality swim wear and aloha
shirts. In 1962, McCullough purchased Spooner's of Waikiki,
the company that had been manufacturing his designs, and Reyn Spooner was born. In the early 1960s, the Chamber of Commerce
of Hawaii declared that "To be authentic, aloha shirts must be
manufactured in Hawaii."
Every Reyn Spooner garment has always been cut and sewn in their own Hawaii
workrooms. With new print designs rolling off the drawing board monthly, Reyn
Spooner
offers the largest and most unique selection of authentic Hawaiian aloha shirts.
In 1966 Aloha Friday became a weekly event
in Hawaii.
McCullough created aloha shirts which looked like the shirts surfers wore -
bleached out and subdued by the sun. By turning the colorful prints inside out,
he achieved the "chambray" effect. The reverse print concept, now
synonymous with the Reyn Spooner name, made
history.
Reyn Spooner garments are still produced today with the same meticulous, uncompromising attention
to details as they were at their inception back in Waikiki.
All fabrics are hand select, premium quality.
Part of Reyn Spooner's appeal lies in the knowledge that, with the exception of their
trademark print, "Lahaina Sailor," each exclusive design is printed
in limited quantities.
Reyn Spooner products are well known internationally,
with product being sold in the US mainland, Guam, the Caribbean and the Hawaiian Islands. They also offer a wide selection on
